Just about one week ago, part of the NC contigent came dragging into the
Corrib Rest. Late as usual! :-P Here are some of my memories...

Just as we(Debbie, Mausa', Marie & I) came up the stairs we met Lynn
Hulme taking the HV tickets at a table in the hallway. Everyone seemed
very happy to see us and very concerned about Lannis(and Bobbie). We
let them know they planned to arrive on Sunday. I only had time for
one sip of my Guinness before it was time to to play bass on Sunrise.
I hope I didn't screw up my part too bad! Anyway a wide assortment
of players got up and did there thing. The one song that really sticks
out in my mind as being just great was "Rainbow Demon" with Dale, Dave,
Madman, Muzzy & Alex. It simply cooked!

At some point, we broke for a buffet that was very nice and it was time
to check out the Heep stuff. Man, I think I busted the bank on this
trip!! I'm also afraid I missed a lot of the other entertainment while
studying the merchandise in the adjacent room. Luckily I was back in time
for the Hensley-Lawton Band. They put on an absolutely amazing performance
with a mixture of Heep classics and AGOG songs. Ken even did a brand new
acoustic ballad that will be on his new CD (September?). For an encore, Ken
a Heep medly intro leading into a rousing version of Gypsy! Man, what a studio
album this band could do!! (Hint! Hint!)

Sunday also included some on the Heepsters, Stay on Top guys, et al doing
their thing with a smoking concert by Gunhill. The setlist was very close
to the Live in Germany 99 CD except Ken got up and sang LIB with them.
Just great! I loved when the band broke into "Give Peace a Chance" in the
middle of LIB. I especially liked GunHill doing "You Kill Me" and "Ride the
Sky"!

It was great to meet all the people we've never met before in person and
also renewing old friendships. I won't try to list everyone but in particular
meeting Tapio, Boris, Jyrki, Graham, Lynn, Alan, Mike Taylor, and Dave O.
has been a long time coming. I also met Jenny and Greg & Sherri from the
list as well as Rob Corich and the world famous Rinus & Willie (& her
sister Sonya), world traveller Mark Dinardo, and Janice Winward. We even
did some site seeing with Dale, Helen, Muzzy, Button, Marie, Merrick, Cathy
and Gina. What could be better than a medieval castle or Stonehenge with
the Heepsters?

What a Heepvention! G, Lynn, Pete, Janine, Alan, Margaret, John, Iris
and whoever I left off... YOU DID GREAT!! Best one ever!

Keep the great times coming!
