Nobody could tell me this was really going to happen when I saw the frist picture of Heep on the net in 1997 and mailed Dave White for the first time to tell him: I am a heepfan.

The first Hoegaarden beer saw the light of day when Arnold, Erik and I met at Schiphol airport. Ready for Heepvention 2000.
Written this I realize this turns in to a much to long story. Lets see.....The best thing of the vention for me was to be among friends. Friends I met before in Myrtle Beach, Germany, Belgium, England and Holland. It was great to share a table with our Japanese friends Hiro and Taasan. All the way from Tokyo for Heepvention 2000.
Brian & Lorraine Jones arranged the Hotel for us. A big thank you to them. We have met three times now and we both look forward to the next time.
To get together  with my webpartners Dave White and Rodrigo Werneck was a very special moment for me. Finally united live at Heepvention 2000.
To meet my Heepmothers again : Helen, Bobby, Mausa..fantastic. I still own them a lot for ' saving' me in MB last year.
This is getting more of a thank you letter then a review but I feel I have to do it so....
Ofcourse the wonderfull cake I was surprised with for my birthday made me almost cry too! Overwhelming really.
I was happy I could share it the next day with everybody, although to cut the Innocent Victim Cover hurted a bit.
Then  there was the stageact with Why did you go. My first time on a heepsters stage. Thanks to Dale, Bob, Mac, Alex, Richard, and Erik on this one. They did a marvelous job.
John Lawton is a wonderfull man. As an artist: To hear him sing Wiseman with Ken on piano made me feel this vention was unique...and we were there. As a heepster: John payed attention to everybody, worked so hard to let everything go well for everybody. Credits go to the organizers of Heepvention 99 in Myrtle Beach. John and Iris got infected with the heepsters virus there.  Both gave there all for us. What to say?
I had the privilege to see Ken Hensley being busy during the soundcheck on Saturday. He was tensed and very concentrated to prepare a good show. The way he acted remembered me I saw him in the same sort of nervous way before a gig in holland in 1980. Ken didn't change and will be back on the road. His stageact in the Corribs convinced me. HE is back and we will see him on stage a lot more.
GunHill surprised me with a outstanding performance. Free me did it for me. The Santana Jingoloba version excited us all. What a band it is.
Last but certainly not least I like to thank Graham, Lynn, Alan, Margaret, Dave & Yvonne for all they did. You all let us THE weekend, OUR heepvention we dreamed of.
I missed the current line up. and hoped ( a little naive) Maybe Mick would show up. Instead there was Alex Napier, Paul Newton, Iain Clarke, Ken Hensley and John Lawton. Nothing to complain about:-))
As I said Nobody could tell me this was really going to happen when I saw the frist picture of Heep on the net in 1997, and when anybody say now this will happen again but with the current line up present...I will just smile.....
