Well, I finally got SO in the mail yesterday, and listened to it 2 1/2
times at work last night.
My opinion: very good! Compared to the impression I had gleaned from all
the reviews on this list, it was much heavier, and much more like SOL.
There weren't really any songs that stuck out as BAD, but unfortunately I
couldn't give it the undivided attention it deserved.
Songs that stuck out as really good: EVERYTHING IN LIFE, which to me is
very remiscient of the track "Return to Fantasy" - similar swing rhythm,
bravado in the vocal line and lyrics, charging pulse - terrific tune.
SWEET PRETENDER, the bonus track, was great as well - I echo many others in
saying it will be a shame if this is left off the US edition.
As for how it comapres to Abandon - I can't even compare them; the two
bands and their respective directions are too far apart now (and may have
always been, for that matter).
